Ballycross Trail

After many requests from our customers to allow them to walk through areas of the farm, this year we have opened our farm trails. The trails run through woodland and marsh/woodland areas, along our river bank and through selected parts of our orchards.

 

The trails in areas have been painstakingly constructed as machinery could not be brought in and a lot of stone was wheeled in by manpower. All the bridges and walk ways were built on the farm by ourselves so we had a very busy summer getting everything ready for the new season. Hope you will all enjoy them and hopefully over the following years we will add to them in different ways to make them even more interesting.

 

 

2011 NEWS: We have a new trail but it is a rough trail for the more avid walker. Proper walking shoes are required as the trail meanders along narrow banks and ditches and through some of the wilder terrain on the farm.

 

While there is no charge to enter the farm and the courtyard area where the animals are housed, the trails have a charge of €2 per adult and €1.50 per child.
